On April 9, a ceremony was held at the entrance of Concord University College to mark the commencement of a construction project for an underpass beneath Xuefu Nan Road on the east side of campus. The ceremony was attended by Mr. You Mengjun, Major of Fuzhou City, Mr. Yang Xinjian, Deputy Major of Fuzhou City, Mr. Zhang Xing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Fuzhou University, Mr. Li Baoying, Secretary of the CPC Committee Fujian Normal University, Mr. Zheng Jiajiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee FNU and heads of Concord University College, with Major You Mengjun announcing the official commencement of the project.

The project is a two-way four-lane underpass beneath the main road, with a length of 522 meters, a width of 16.9 meters and a height of 4.5 meters. After 12 months of construction, faculties and students will be able to cross over the platform over Xuefu Nan Road underpass safely and quickly, evading the busy traffic on the road. Another underpass project near Fuzhou University also started construction.
