3 23, 2021CUC Student News Center ranked the 40th on National Top 100 Campus Media List 2020, becoming one of the two campus media from Fujian Province to be on the list, together with Xiamen University student news center. The list was jointly released by China Youth Daily, China Youth New Media Association and China University Media Union.
The campus media list was initiated in 2015 by China Youth Daily and China University Media Union as a project to promote the development of campus media and campus culture as well as to encourage student media reporters. In 2020, the project covered three parts: National Top 100 Campus Media Lists (for Undergraduate Colleges and Vocational Colleges respectively), Excellent Campus News Works Award and Excellent Student Reporter Scholarship.
The evaluation factors for the ranking include campus influence (35%), brand activities (20%), and content quality (45%). The top 100 campus media have been selected through preliminary review, second review and final review, during which the evaluation panel also take into account the factors such as geographical location, Wechat Communication Index and media potentiality.
The lists for the other two awards ---- Excellent Campus News Works and Excellent Student Reporter Scholarship----were to be released in June.
Campus media is an indispensable part of a college as it provides information to the students in a direct and timely way. The Student News Center of Concord University College FNU, under the leadership of CUC Party Committee and the guidance of Press and Publicity Center, has various publicity platforms including CUC Newspaper, CUC News Net, official weibo accounts and official wechat accounts. Besides, the center also has a presence in various social media and apps such as Douyin, bilibili, Tencent Penguin, QQ and Toutiao. Operations of these platforms and channels play an important role in disseminating official news and constructing a positive image of Concord University College.
Established in 2005, the news center has become a good platform for students to practice their competence as journalists, adpersons or media planners. It is advocated that every member in the center could be “more than a journalist” and have a “happy and fruitful” experience.
