CUC Administrators Visit Alumni Entrepreneurs in Xiamen and Holding Colloquium with CUC Alumni

To strengthen the bondbetween alumni and alma mater and build a platform for information exchange foralumni chapters, on November 16, a delegation led by President Zhang Huarong,Executive Deputy Secretary of CUC Party Committee Huang Junxing and DeputyPresident Wang Jin’an visited alumni entrepreneurs in Xiamen and held acolloquium with alumni of Concord University College Fujian Normal Universityin Xiamen.

More than 20representatives of Xiamen alumni chapter gathered together in this meeting. Openinghis speech by congratulating the alumni for their achievements in career, PresidentZhang Huarong pointed out that the alumni chapter was a bridge connectingalumni and alma mater as well as an important link of CUC’s alumni network. Hehoped that Xiamen alumni chapter could serve as a platform for alumni toexchange resources and help each other. President Zhang subsequently briefedthe audiences on the development of CUC in recent years, and highlighted thepreparations for the 15th anniversary of CUC. The alumni were invited to visitthe alma mater to celebrate the birthday of the alma mater.


“Here we all have onename: Concorders.” In the session, Wang Yongda, president of the Xiamen AlumniChapter and a 2007 Graduate of Information Technology Department, retrospectedthe construction of exchange platform of the Xiamen Alumni Chapter in the pastfive years. He said that although the alumni graduated in different years from differentdepartments, they were all bonded by the alumni chapter, united around the almamater, and always concerned about the alma mater. He said that in the future,the organization of Xiamen alumni chapter would be further improved, the alumnidatabase perfected, the alumni team continuously expanded, and the alumnichapter’s development potential enhanced to strengthen the relationship amongour alumni, between the alumni and alma mater, and the alumni and society; thealumni chapter would fully integrate alumni resources to serve the community,and support the alma mater.

From November 15 to 16,accompanied by Wang Yongda and other members of the Council of Xiamen AlumniChapter, the top officials of CUC and staff members in charge of alumniassociation visited Xiamen Lishen Bilingual Kindergarten founded by YangShuting, a 2013 graduate of Japanese major, Xiamen Shaogongguan Restaurant co-foundedby Shao Jiafu, a 2006 graduate of Japanese major, and his wife Xu Yayan, a 2006graduate of English major, Xiamen Kingfeels Energy Technology Co., Ltd. foundedby Zhang Zhiqun, a 2006 graduate of Economics major, Quanzhou Yongchun BindaIncense Co., Ltd. founded by Zeng Shaofang, a 2014 graduate of InternationalFinance major of the Institute of International Education, Fujian Branch ofTellhow Intelligent Engineering Co., Ltd. founded by Lu Huiyun, a 2011 graduateof Department of Management, Xiamen Zowee Information Technology Co., Ltd.founded by Wang Yongda and other alumni companies. In-depth discussions wereheld on the establishment of school-enterprise teaching practice base,application-oriented talent training, and technology research and developmentat the symposium.


During the visit, HuangJunxing, the Deputy Secretary of the CUC Party Committee, emphasized thatalumni was one of the most valuable resources of CUC and the development of CUCis inseparable from the support of alumni. He advocated for deeper cooperationbetween alumni and the alma mater, enhanced identification of the alumni withthe alma mater and increased sponsor from the alumni. He also hoped that thealumni chapter could promote, participate in and benefit from the constructionof the alma mater, and serve the local economic development together with thealma mater. The alumni at the symposium expressed their willingness toestablish school-enterprise cooperation units with CUC for talent training anddevelopment.
